The Department of Things is a printshop rooted in a shared love of art and a mission to serve the creative community of makers.

Located in Kingston, New York's historic waterfront Rondout District, we offer public and private art classes in screenprinting and Risography as well as a variety of other topics classes taught by our Teaching Artists.

Our Artist-in-Residence program brings artists from all disciplines to create a limited edition print in our studio. Join our mailing list to receive notifications about open calls for proposals.
Prints by Post
Through our benefit edition project Prints by Post we've collaborated with 30 amazing contemporary artists to translate their work into limited-edition screenprinted postcards.
Prints are available for $1.50 plus a suggested, honor-system donation of $10 to the International Rescue Committee to support their global humanitarian work.
